Cooking is an art but the same being healthy is a necessity and scientific

Cooking is an art which is mastered by some in many parts of the world. Even though females are the main cooks of every household in various parts of the world, there are instances where males too have performed the job.
Ayurveda, even though being a Medical science also deals with the aspects with respect to cooking also. It has explained various principles that are regarded as necessary for cooking such that the recipe will be a healthy, tasty and helps in proper nourishment of the body. While doing so, they have tried to consider the interactions between the various components of the recipe which may lead to an harmful effect. This concept is clearly dealt in the context of Viruddha Aahara (Incompatibility of food). This is explained because if this concept is neglected it will surely lead to a grave disease conditions like skin diseases, autoimmune conditions, etc. The severity of the conditions may vary considerably according to the disease caused due to the neglect of the principle. But in any case the ill-health is sure to happen.
On close observation of today's lifestyle and food habits and its analysis through the lens of the concept of Viruddha Aahara a stunning result can be obtained which can be interpreted as follows:
Around 50% is Viruddha Aahara usually composed of Junk foods, stale foods, refrigerated foods, etc
Around 30% is incompatible combination of ingredients
Around 10% are incompatible with the time, environment, culture and habits of the individual.
The remaining 10% are healthy, compatible and nourishing.
The reasons may be many to explain to others as to why we have used or taken the particular food. But why do we abuse the body for some false perceptions or prejudice. Think before you act. Understand the need of the body and do justice to it.
